You:
You’re an electrical engineer with years of experience developing technically challenging products. You’re hands on with design and are the kind of person who has all the answers to life’s toughest electrical engineering problems. You’ve previously held senior roles developing successful consumer technologies and now you’re ready for the next challenge. As Electrical Engineering Lead at Thalmic, you will focus on conceptualizing creative electrical designs for our products, organizing the electrical engineering development functions; delivering manufacturable designs to agreed specifications within time and budget constraints, and fostering an innovative and focused team atmosphere. What you’ll be doing:
Pioneering the electrical designs of wearable tech
Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of product development activities
Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the electrical engineering team
Assure that the electrical engineering team achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame
Be on top of current industry trends, ensuring that Thalmic establishes its technology leadership position
Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource / mentor
Assure that product is designed for specific needs, but with wider applications in mind
Ensure implementation and refinement as required of formal process to support the product development process
Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements
What you’ll need:
Minimum BSEE, 6-10+ years of electronics industry engineering experience
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
“Out of the box thinker”. Must be key driver contributing to the products roadmap and willing to take innovative product risk while balancing the road map for on time deliverables
Expert in electronic hardware and embedded design
Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills
Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Related computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Schematic capture and layout
