Descrtiption - Manufacturing Test Engineer (San Francisco, California)
Product: Portable Payment Terminal - Credit Card Reader
Our hardware team builds the tangible connection to all that is square. With the Square Card Reader and the introduction of Square Stand, our family of devices is growing—and this is only the beginning. As we introduce more and more of our products to the world, our hardware footprint expands.
To realize this ambitious roadmap, we need a manufacturing test engineer who can craft test processes that are as elegant and effective as the rest of Square’s designs. In order for Square to make payments easier for everyone, the hardware has to work every time.

Look for opportunities to develop re-usable test platform building blocks to make test development easier.
Provide DFx feedback to the design team.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
5+ years’ experience producing high-volume electronic products.
Hands-on aptitude to make things work in ME, EE, and/or software.
Proven ability to write robust, factory-ready software in a variety of languages on a variety of platforms. (c/c++, python, etc)
Real-world understanding of statistics/SPC.
