I am making a 4 layer power distribution board. I would like the two inner layers be the plus and minus of a 40V DC supply. I am having trouble getting those layers connected to device pins. There was no option to select the inner layers from the device pins using the inspector. I’ve used both vias and platted through holes with etch to the device pins on the top layer. I feel that I’ve specific the layers and names correctly. I then did a pour of the inner layers and specified the appropriate net name. I still get a violation saying that the pins are not connected.
The pour does the trick. Kind of a long story as to how I got to where I was. I added the through hole vias plus surface etch which did not work and then I added the pour. My board was in a funny state. Once I deleted the vias and surface etch I got connections directly from the part pin to the inner layer with a thermal relief.
