I’m attempting to create a card-edge connector footprint for a component I’m creating. What is the recommended procedure for this? The footprint generator tool appears to be very helpful for a variety of pre-defined package types, but I don’t see any that can be easily used for laying out a single row of essentially SMD pads of specified shape and pitch. Any ideas?
Hi,
to make a row or SMD pads, you can use the “Add Padstack” tool on the left hand side of the footprint editor. In the window, there is a “Create row” option that will let you space multiple pads.
